Bethany Berard is a visual culture researcher and teacher.

She received a PhD in Communication and Media Studies from Carleton University in 2024. She is currently the project coordinator of The Digital Life of the Artist at Western University. Her current research looks at the development of visual certainty and photographic history, and the intersection of photorealism and visual AI generated images.
